Which Tariff Cheapest? Won't be Using iPhone But Wish To Keep Active

Anonymous
Not applicable

My current pay monthly tariff has now ended (my own iPhone) but I'm working overseas for the next year and want a tariff just to keep the phone active 'til I get back home. Overseas I'll be using the Company's phone.

Is Pay & Go best for this?  Do I have to keep adding £10 a month though or can I just Top Up every now and then (say £10 a quarter) for cheapest option?

Many thanks for any help!

Havee your number transferred to P&G and you just need to make a chargeable call every six months to keep your number active.

Sorry if I have to explain this in exact detail.

Active as in if friends/colleagues want to contact me via that phone they are able to do so and I do not lose my current phone number which I'm loathe to do after 10 years.

Hope that's clear.

Looks like o2 basic is the best option?

Got ya,
I'd go with payg or the cheapest simo plan and port your number to it
Me personally, I would go Sim only on lowest tariff and use Tugo to avoid roaming charges.

Yes the best option for you but you may to ask for that particular tariff. You don't need to top up every month.

If you decide on payg you need to make a chargeable call once every 6 months to keep sim active. If you go for the basic sim only tariff you just pay every month and it will remain online automatically.

I have an old phone on PAYG....I keep that active and actually take it to Spain with me just in case my lovely Note 3 (on sim only contract) has a hissy fit and stops working. Never happened yet but I like to be prepared wink
