Hi Guys, I'd like to buy a Realme 5 pro phone, but I've heard it doesn't support all LTE bands. So I emailed them and I got a reply from them saying that it supports the following bands.
"GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
WCDMA: 850/900/2100MHz
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20/28
TD-LTE: Bands 38/40/41(2535-2655MHz"
I've found quite a few websites which says which LTE bands O2 supports but none of them clarify whether they're talking about FDD or TD bands. I've only found one article which claims all of the UK uses FDD bands, but I couldn't find an official looking source to back this up. Does anyone know what LTE bands O2 uses and which standard? FDD or TD?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion MI5, but that website still doesn't clarify the issue as it says that is supports LTE Band 3 - but not "all" of the bands. It doesn't elaborate which bands O2 uses.
The Kimovil website says that the Global version of the phone also supports LTE Band 20, along with band 3 and will fully work on O2. While the Indian version of the phone only supports band 3 - so it would sem like the website you linked is referening to the indian version of the phone, but again it doesn't clarify.

So ultimately there's conflicting 3rd party information information. All the stuff I'm reading is also implying that they're talking about the FDD standard, but not explicitly saying it.
I would really like a way to directly contact O2 over email to fully clarify the issue once and for all - however I couldn't find a way to do so after scouring the website.
Edit: MI5 can you please use you're government contacts to find out please. Surely for defence reasons you guys must keep track of this stuff in case of cyber attacks or something.

Right okay, so I've found the following website which reckons the band numbers are labelled exlusively such that the number defines the standard as well. If that's the case then I think it should be fine as the realme supports band 20, 1, 3, 8 and 40.

It's the band that's important @genericturtle
