You could ask via complaints and if not happy with the answer, escalate to the Ombudsman, but I suspect all mobile networks use the same source as they are all increasing by 4 or 4.1%

I think EE have put theirs up by 4.1%.... So people considering moving networks will be in for more of the same...

OK I think my confusion came from the fact that there are different inflation rates published on the same date - turns out I was looking at the Consumer Price Index of 2.7% whereas the Retail Price Index is indeed 4.0%. Where would we be without Google? 🙂
