I’ve called customer services twice and both times I’ve had a different answer. My contract ends on the 12th of October but my monthly allowances (data, mins, etc) restart 26th of every month. To avoid overpaying, 2 bills, overlapping, etc, when should I switch to Sim Only please? I know which sim deal I want, just confused as to when I should do it. Thankyou

Just upgrade to your chosen simo when you like.
Your billing date will stay the same and you'll only be charged 1 bill.
No need to cancel as you are upgrading a current contract.

Hi @mahj

You can do it any time. You give notice to cancel your contract which means you will pay the remainder off

https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/ba-p/566774

Then go for the sim only contract. If you have any problems you will need to speak to customer services Which may be best as you can explain exactly what you want to do. Best time to call is between 8-8.30am

So switching to a sim only plan is classed as an “upgrade” - that’s good to know, Thankyou for your replies, I’ll give them a ring. Looking forward to paying only a third of my current bill after so many years!
