What happens when you reach the contract renewal date?

I currently am on a 12 month sim-only plan which renews in 2 days on 01/01/23.

I have chosen to move network and I am currently waiting for the phone to arrive.

Should I reach the renewal date, would my plan still be for another 12 months, or would it be a 30 day plan?

And if it's the former, would I be liable for paying off the entire 12 months if it renews?

@gmka97

It reverts to a 30 day plan which you can cancel at anytime.

Using your PAC Guide: How to get your PAC [June 2021 Update]  to transfer your number will end it or other ways here Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

Also, @gmka97 - take care not to cancel your Direct Debit instruction in your MyO2, 2 reasons:

1. Any funds to be repaid, as you are billed and pay a month in advance, are refunded to your account, pending refund by O2 to you, and

2. Your MyO2 account will be closed upon the PAC being processed and your number moving to the new network, so you will be reliant on calling CS to follow up on the refund of unused funds.

Good luck!
