What happens when simplicity is cancelled?

Hey guys. Going to cancel my 30 day rolling simplicity contract. 

What happens when that is done.. will my sim just go back to being pay& go? 

As after i'll be buying a 24month contract and hope to keep same NO. 

I tried to do it through o2 but it is a refurbed phone so that option is not availbale to will have to do it this way

Am I missing the obvious here, but if you're going on a long term contract and getting a refurb phone with less warranty why not just spend the extra going for the brand new model?
