Payment isn't taken until your order is accepted.
If you check your bank account and it says "pending" it means O2 don't have the money yet. It will be held in a shadow account by your bank awaiting collection. If not collected, it will be returned to your cleared funds in line with your banks policies.
If it shows as completed, it means you have been accepted for the contract.
