I hace a simplicity 12 month pay monthly sim with a data bolton for my iPhone.
I read about the web daily Europe tariff and I went ahead to opt in.
However I get a txt back from 2020 stating that my tariff is it compatible with the web daly Europe tariff.
Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure I understand your question, but it looks like you may be opt-ed in already.
Best to check on MyO2 (http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2)
log in, then look in the section called My Bolt Ons Summary. If its not there then ring the helpline.

Still waiting for CS to get back to me.
My partner also signed up for a simplicity pay monthly contract with a new number and we can't get Web daily europe activated.. same message ("not available with your tariff at the moment")

How long have you had your contracts
If they are new then you may have to wait 3 months or call O2 direct
The reason for this is that O2 have no credit on you at the moment, so they need to make sure you pay your dd

It could be that, since I got my pay and go in december and transferred to pay monthly at the very end of december. I think the first bill is due on the 18th of this month

Yes international roaming is provisioned on your phone but normally after the 3 months of being with them.
If you need to add anything that o2 can ask you to leave a deposit just in case you ring up a high bill.

they got back to me saying Web daily europe is only for selected customers, and that I'm not one of them.
Funny. Bottom line is, with Web daily I'd be using data broad, but without I won't. I have an international sim that charges .5 euro per megabyte.

so I finally managed to get Web Daily Europe last week. I got the confirmation SMS saying that from that point on i will only pay £1.5 a day. But today I noticed that this wasn't listed in the bolt on section of my o2, so I called CS up and they said I don't have Web Dialy. All they did was activate an opt-out for the roaming charges, that stops data after you make 40 pounds while abroad.
So now imagine I had travelled to Europe without prior-checking this.
I would have assumed Web daily europe was on (remember: I RECEIVED the confirmation SMS) and the abroad limit was lifted so I could have come back with a telephone bill with 4 digits !!!

Its a good thing you checked. But o2 can see what sms they send you from there system, so you could have said something if you had recevied a hugh bill.
Did you get it however applied to your account?

The thing is that I already had something like this happened to me when I lived in Spain - when I bought the iPhone 3G back in 2008 they failed to activate the data plan and run into a bill in the hundreds of euros..
Customer services told me I had to talk to an specialist but the call got disconnected so I didn't try again.
However last Friday I activated Web Daily Europe on my partner's phone and after the confirmation SMS was received we see that the same "Data abroad opt-out" was added to the bolt-on section.
We're just puzzled.
