O2 Offers £7 Airtime plan by which you can use unlimited data in your apple watch taken from non O2 store.
My question is if O2 doesn’t provide sms and call on watch eSIM then what is the sense of having eSIM. I know we can use data to play online music etc but calling is native feature. So if my iphone is left at home or itbus turned off with this plan I can only use data NoT the call, sounds weird. Other telecom providers are providing calls and data while O2 only provides data.
Will in future O2 change this and allow minutes also from primary sim contract?
pls advise

So if you are sure then I can activate it 5£ one, is this 30 days plan and not 24 month new contract? If it is 30 days thing then I can give a try

There is no time limit on watch data plans @rky_com
The only constraint is on the device plan.

Let me activate it, tomorrow I’ll share calling experience here, thanks

Activated call is working when iPhone is off, only next issue is it has new phone number in caller id lol which I didn’t want.

So the summery of this thread is -—
1) Apple watch plan is 5£
2) You can activate it on any cellular compatible apple watch if you own it personally (not purchased from o2) or taken from o2
3) This is called companion plan
4) It can be activated by calling to customer care or going store or simply at home by using watch app - cellular - add plan
5) Login with your existing my o2 details, select the plan and allow 24 hours to get it activated
6) You will get sms once activated just restart the watch
7) Calling is native feature of watch if paired iphone is nearby and connected with bluetooth wifi so to test watch call as cellular with new plan, just turn off your iphone and make a call from watch.
😎 Open my o2 app and logout and login back now select your o2 number or name and it will also show airtime plan with unlimited data.
O2 customer care has misguided he said if phone is off you can’t make any calls and thus above discussion started.

Hey all, sorry to revive an old thread but I've made some tweaks/edits to the OP. At the time, all of the information was correct, however our Watch plan pricing has recently changed so I've edited the cost in the original post to reflect this.
Why? The Community has a strong SEO ranking within Google and other search engines and some specific searches for Apple Watch show this thread as the first result, so we wanted to update it so as to avoid any future confusion.

It comes up as a primary google search result because of the fact that O2 don’t have any details regards pricing for this plan on their website, or at least it’s not easy to find. Their website and customer service really is appalling.
