Want to discuss contract / cancel

Hi All,

I've found a deal on a phone and I'm looking to discuss with O2 to see if they will match/better it. Failing that I need to call them to discuss cancelling the contract.

Whatever I do I can't seem to connect with someone. I imagine this is due to what is going on right now but my contract is coming to an end so I need to work this out ASAP.

@jonsie when requesting my Pac code it said I'd have to pay off £44, is this just what will happen regardless or if I wait for my next payment will I be able to move free (normally pay £38)

Hi @Mjeffers , 

You have to give 30 days notice to cancel your contract, in which case your contract stays in use for those 30 days, so even if your term has come to an end , you still have another month to pay unless you gave your 30 days notice the month before your contract ends.

The only way I'd really get any benefit is to pay the next bill (in 12 days). Give my 30 days notice and continue to use O2 for those 30 days before switching?

So if I want to switch now / soon I just need to pay that

O2 can no longer enforce a notice period.

You only have to pay up to the the date your contract reaches it's minimum term.

If you cancel before that, you will be charged upto that date.

If you cancel after that, you will just be charged for the days you went over.

Yes, pay that and you can leave anytime.

Giving your PAC to a new network will automatically end your contract with O2 and a final bill will be produced so no need to give notice.
