Hi guys,
So, the number is legitimate, but was sent in error in the individual case here.
If anyone ever has any outstanding amount, you should always call 2729 from your mobile or ring or 0800 588 4217 from a landline and enter the mobile number you wish to pay for.
Sorry for the confusion @Anonymous !
Cheers

Hi,
It may be O2 collections.
You can double check by ringing o2 on 202 from your phone.
If you have a blocking spec in your phone then add the number.
Also forward the text.
How to stop getting texts you don’t want?
If you or your children get texts you didn’t sign up for, forward them to us on 7726. If you have an iPhone, you can send the text to us by email at 7726@o2.com

The number search comes back with mixed results. Some claim it to be O2 whilst others claim it to be a spammer.
Maybe @Toby can confirm ?

I've just paid my bill using this number, didn't think anything of it until I received a text post-payment with spelling mistakes and a reference number shorter than usual. Got a bit worried, spoke to Ahetesham on live chat and he informed me he can't trace my payment and that the number isn't O2. Help!
