Voicemail cannot be accessed

I cannot access voicemail. I dial 901 and it instructs me to set up a pin, and then confirm it. Any number I type fails as it tells me the confirmation number does not match the original. After a few tries it says "Your PIN has not been changed" and disconnects. How can this be fixed?

Did you try resetting the pin?

Text: “reset” or “RESET” to 802901.

You will then receive a text back which has a random 5 digit number. Then dial 901 – where you will be asked to enter the random 5 digit number from the text.

You'll then be asked to enter a new PIN. Anything between 4 and 10 digits can be used except for 8705.

If you have a personalised PIN you will need to contact Customer Service to have your PIN reset. A personalised PIN will have been set up by you and every time you dial 901 you will be prompted for it.

I am not given the option to log in, it merely states "Your PIN is set to default. To keep your mailbox secure you must change your PIN. Please enter a new 4-10 digit PIN followed by the hash key."

You don't log in to voicemail, just set a new pin as in the message ie  1234#

Don't forget the hash.

If it still doesn't work give them a ring.

As I said earlier, it tells me that the two PINs I type in do not match. I can see that they match because I can see the numbers I have typed in on my phone. I have tried it many times with two different sets of numbers of different lengths, and non-obvious (i.e. not 1234).

I guess I will have to call customer services. I'm sure I've used voicemail in the past on this account (but I do not use it often) so I'm not sure why it tells me my PIN is set to default.

Thanks.

Good Morning Daveoh

If your still having issues with your Voicemail then Yes by ringing Customer Service they should  be able to reset your service as Perksie says.

Pay Monthy ; 202

Payg           ; 4445

But be aware they are ultra busy with the iPhone launch.

Possibly Live Chat may be able to assist instead.

Hope all goes well.

Thanks. I tried resetting it, but it still does not accept the PIN which it tells me it has been reset to, and it ended up locking my voicemail for 30 minutes. I'll have to call customer services at some point.

You will, but in 5 years using this forum I have never seen a case of it not working, so please let us know what the cause is.

Indeed, I'm sure I've used voicemail a few times since I started my contract so I'm not even sure why it said it was set to default.
