This might be a silly question but how do I know when I've got a voicemail?! On Vodafone my phone used to ring if someone left a message but I can't work out if this is possible on O2.

I've been playing around with the settings but all I get is the red dot for the missed call, nothing to show there's a message.

Thanks in advance

You will get a notification sound (like a text message) and an o_o symbol to remind you.
You may prefer to be notified by text, if so see guide here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-Services/All-you-need-to-know-about-O2-Voicemail-901/td-...

Hmmm, very strange, I didn't get anything like that. It only came to light when my mother informed me she'd left a message - she probably now thinks I'm ignoring her. As if....

I'll have another look at the settings - thanks

I've managed to set it up now - I didn't realise I had to have mobile data turned on to get a notification. Not sure I like that but hey ho, I'm sure I'll get used to it!

Thanks for your help

For VVM you need data but for ordinary 901 you shouldn't need data switched on. There should be an alert notification.

Thanks for your replies. I went in to the O2 shop today to ask them to take a look at the settings but was told they can't help me, I need to use live chat or call customer services so I'll do that when I get a chance. It's not a big deal but it's bugging me now!
