Hi folks.
It seems this forum is the way to get this resolved. I have cancelled Virgin Media due to the price increase and as I have read and we have confirmed many times- the O2 side can now be cancelled without penalty.
I spoke to O2 who initially threatened me with early termination fees etc. I assured the person that would not be the case - they then transferred me to another department but actually just disconnected me. Having spent quite a long time on hold to get that far, I don't want to do it again.
I have done my bit, I have cancelled through VM, I have spoken to O2 who did not know what to do with me - so now am looking for help here. I don't want to use social media as I have seen posted. I just need the little personal message from an O2 mod to get this fixed.

So - it seems after all that - O2 have applied £121 of early termination fees.
I "resolved" my issues with Virgin Media by going through the ombudsman - actually it was quite a smooth process so I will lodge a complaint with O2 and then start my 8 week timer.
It just feels like it should be easier...

Exactly the same thing happened to me. They are trying to apply 200+ early termination fees.
How do I fight this with ombudsman?
Can we do class action?

you need to speak to Virgin who would pass you through to o2, as no offence but you could be lying to get out of paying any termination fees..
Call Virgin on 0345 454 1111 and ask to be put through..

@madasaf1sh we did that multiple times over days. Got cut off after hours on hold. Managed to cancel virgin no problem. We have all the letters , call records, notes, emails and messages so evidencing isn't an issue.
Wasted a ridiculous amount of time already on this.
