Hi all,

I'd just like to clarify something.

I have travel inclusive as an 'extra' not a 'bolt on'. I'm going to Mexico in June. Am I correct in thinking I'll be able to use my phone as normal whilst out there, data wise, with no extra charges as long as I don't use anymore than 25gb?

Just to put my mind at rest as I don't want a massive bill on my return.

Thanks in advance

@Adam1968uk

You’ll get a daily allowance of Unlimited minutes, texts and data when you roam in our O2 Travel Inclusive Zone. There’s no cap on data, but we’ll manage traffic and may need to slow down speeds depending on usage, and all allowances are subject to our Fair Usage policy. Calls and texts to premium rate numbers and other special numbers are not included.

In reality, data speed is capped at 0.5mbps, so pretty slow and useless for anything other than basic email.

If you use free wifi hotspots, connect through a vpn to ensure security.

Mexico is included in Travel Inclusive so your assumptions are correct

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@CW73

Some things to try:
Check data roaming is on in phone settings.
Manually search for another network
Turn off 5g
Change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"
Check with O2 whether you have a roaming bar on your account. Do this via social media
If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help.

Thanks MI5. I’ve tried all your suggestions except contacting o2 to see if they’ve blocked roaming. Time difference says I’ll have to try them in the morning. Cheers anyway.
