Using mobile phone abroad

I am on pay&Go and do not use data abroad, only want to use phone for calls.  Does anyone know for sure if I have to opt in or opt out of 02Travel?  I am confused.  I have looked on 02 site for answer but even there I find conflicting answers re the tariff for making and receiving calls (ie on one page it says 07p to receive a call and on another it says 08p).  I assume that if my phone is not capable of receiving data then I wont be charged £1.99 per day (plus the cost of calling) just for using my mobile to make calls.  Help!

Re: Using mobile phone abroad

As far as I know, O2 Travel is automatically active on your account. You can call customer services on 4445 to confirm - but all the information on the website suggests that you are automatically on O2 Travel. You only get charged the £1.99 if you use data while abroad.
