Using current phone after receiving upgrade phone?

Hi all, I've recently upgraded my I phone 4 to I phone 5 on 02 through carphone warehouse. I will recieve my iPhone 5 on tuesday but ideally don't want to begin using this phone until the following weekend. is it possible for me to continue using my current iPhone 4 and current sim card until I set up my iPhone 5 or will my current sim be cut off as soon as I recieve my new phone on the Tuesday? Thanks for any help, Matt

You can carry on using the present sim card until you set up your new phone. The iphone 5 will come with a nano sim and when you are ready you will need to do a sim swap either by texting SWAP to 20220 or here : http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

Your current micro sim will be cut off when you activate your nano sim so you can continue to use the 4.

If you consider lots of people upgrade their handsets just to sell them on and use their current phone.
