Using O2 travel bolt on in the US

I am going to the US in May and looking at adding the O2 travel bolt on which is £6 a day. Obviously where possible I will use WiFi but there will be times when I need data or to make calls to US numbers. Am I right in believing that I will be able to ring US numbers within my free minutes and also that I would be able to receive UK calls and pick up voicemail without charge?
