Hi,

I am currently on a pay monthly contract with 10gb data, unlimited calls/texts. Will the calls/texts I make to UK numbers from India come out of my monthly allowance?

Will I be charged to receive calls or texts from UK numbers, while I am abroad in India. If so, please let me know the charges. How do I switch off my voicemail while I am in India? Is it free to call/text O2 while abroad?

Thanks

Hi @newmember99

You will be paying international rates whilst in India which is very expensive. You may want to think about using a local sim whilst there and using only Wifi.

Turn voicemail off before you go. 1760 to turn OFF 1750 to turn back on.

Thank you both! slight_smile

Is it possible to turn off voicemail while in India? It's a shame I can't use my monthly allowance at all. I assume from your message that receiving texts is free?

Yes receiving texts is free. You should turn off VM before you travel. The important thing is to use Wifi wherever you can.

Receiving texts is always free.

It won't be possible to turn off voicemail once abroad but you can message O2 on social media to do it for you.

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
Thanks.
