@RuthCC - make sure Roaming and data roaming are switched on in your handset's settings.
Contact O2 to make sure you have no BAR active for travelling outside the UK.
Reboot your phone when you land.
Manually search for a network, switching your phone from 5G to 4G can sometimes help.
Use any roaming network, even if it shows as "Forbidden".
If you have an iPhone, you may need to set your APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk".
Just be aware that you can only roam cost free for 63days in 180 days.
You can always contact o2 you can send them a message on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), from anywhere where there is WiFi available (hotels, bars, etc).
