Hi I’m wanting to upgrade my sons phone.We have a monthly contract already just wanting to upgrade this for his birthday in 27th March. If I do this now I know I will need to start paying for the new contract but can I delay his number transferring to the new phone until 27th ?

@Sazzle1983

The contract will update on his current sim card so all you need to do is keep the phone until his birthday (same day as mine so it must be a good day :))

On his birthday, just take the sim from his current phone and pop it in the new one.

The new phone will come with a new 5g sim card, so if you want to use that one, just do a sim swap Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
