Upgrading an iphone 6 to an iphone SE 2020

If I upgrade from an iphone 6 to an iphone SE 2020, do I just have to swap the SIM card over to the new devise? Will all data and the phone number be on the new devise?

Yes you do.

The only thing that will transfer via the sim card is your tariff and phone number.

If you want to sync your apps or photos etc, you will need to back up to icloud
