Upgrading O2 sim only deal

I went to a comparison site and I followed the deal to O2 and after entering my account details it said I could upgrade to the same deal as the comparison site. 

One of the options was to keep my existing SIM. Does that mean I can keep my phone number and the contract will just replace the old one? (I am keeping the same device. I bought it outright and the old sim only contract is out of contract)
