Hi I've upgraded my phone via mobile phones but it setup as a new contract I've already got a 02 contract and is due upgrade but 02 will not change my number and asked me to send new phone back and upgrade through them any advise

Problem is, instead of upgrading you have taken out a new contract which means you now have 2.

I would speak to Mobile Phones first.

O2 are correct really, you don't have to upgrade through them, but there again you don't want two contracts, unless you can afford to pay one off in full.

Have you got an amount outstanding on the old contract for your device?
If yes, you need to pay that off and then you can move your number to your new phone.
If no, then you just need to ask customer services to move your number across.
What reply do you get if you text INFO to 85075 from your old phone?
