I am thinking of upgrading to a new model of the one I've got can I keep same number and contact please

When you upgrade you keep the same number, your contacts on your phone will need to be moved to the new phone, best thing is to sync them to the cloud (google or icloud).

Your contract will change as you will need to signup to a new airtime plan. There is no way round this im afraid.
