I’m looking to upgrade my phone and pay the outstanding balance on it. I have a bill due to be paid on 18th if I upgrade today and pay what’s due will that money still be taken from me on 18th?

You pay what you owe on the device plan today (if you upgrade today).

Your next bill on the 18th will be airtime pro rata for your old tariff and new tariff combined. You will also pay the first installment on your new device plan.
