As my current device plan id paid off i only have a pay monthly sim, im wanting to upgrade this with a new for my daughter for xmas. As im upgrading my number and not taking out a new contract could i keep my current pay monthly sim in my device and put in a pay as you sim in the new phone? Obvs i will be still paying for the phone also.

The thing is when you upgrade, you are upgrading a Pay Monthly contract. Upgrades aren't available on PAYG. Those phones have to be paid for outright.

You could move to PAYG on the device you have paid off but it wouldn't work the other way as far as I am aware.

You would need to contact Customer services for a PAYG sim as they are different to contract.

Yes you can.

The new tariff for the upgraded phone will be on your current SIM card so you will get the new tariff allowances then you can choose any of the PAYG bundle sims for the new phone to give to your daughter.
