Hi all 🙂 just wanted to ask a quick question really. I'm due my eat upgrade next month and know what I want to take. However, when comparing with ccarphone warehouse, the same phone, on same tariff with O2 will cost me an upfront fee of £99 from O2 direct or free from CW. Does anyone know why this is?

CPW get commission from networks and pass it on to customers.
Also, you cannot get refresh tariffs from CPW.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

The independents can sometimes offer sweeter deals although they cannot offer the a refresh deals.

So O2 are theoretically charging for the privelage of the refresh option?

They charge what they deem fit I suppose.

The refresh deals let you not be locked into a 2 year contract.

Worth it's weight in gold IMO although one can end up paying more for the phone than if bought sim free !

Oh yeah Deffo. Just wondered really. Been with O2 for years and always been happy with them so wouldn't move unless I really had to 🙂

If you don't mind being tied into a 2 year contract then go for the cheapest option.

You're not really moving.

Whichever way you choose O2 still get your money. wink

You're just locked into a long 2 year contract through CPW.

If a phone isn't overly important you could drop onto a sim only contract.
