Hi due to bad credit i took sim only plan next week it says can upgrade to a device! would i be required to pass a credit checked to upgrade if anyone could clarify this it would be appreciated

You can upgrade to Refresh from sim only after 3 months if you meet the eligible criteria.

No credit checks for upgrades.

That's the reason for taking a simo, to prove to O2 that you can pay your bills without any problems.
