I have seen on the o2 website that I can upgrade today and o2 will pay off the rest of my monthly contract until it ends which is in March, as long as I get a new monthly contract with airtime plan and the phone. Does anyone know if this is right and if they have had the same?

Yes I did the same last year ...i took out a contract with carphone warehouse 2 years ago and they offered early upgrade to refresh...they just clear your early upgrade fee. Must be cost effective for them.

It guarantees another contract for 2 or 3 years with O2.

All customers who did not buy direct from O2 are been offered the deal to upgrade early for free.
