When upgrading do I pay the first months contract fee in advance in store

No, your bill is adjusted to the new price but billing date stays the same.

Also one more question before I go and get the phone it would be 36 month contract if I wanted upgrade after 24 months would I be able to by just paying of the rest of the device and would have anything other to pay during the 36 months other than my monthly contract
