I paid off my handset over a year ago and I changed my tariff at the end of last year. My phone is getting old and I would like to upgrade. However when I go to upgrade and choose phones it seems to offer me a different tariff. How can o upgrade my phone but keep my tariff?

Hi @Mag79

Simple answer is you can't do that.

If you are upgrading your phone you have to take the tariff on offer.

That's a shame. Frustrating as I am sure they said that I could do that when I took out my new tariff.

@Mag79

Your other option is to buy a new phone outright from either o2 or Amazon, Tesco etc and just continue using your sim card in it.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Mag79 Only way to do that is to buy a sim free phone outright, but you need a fair amount of cash to do that, and not many can in the current climate. There are some good offers to be had at the moment though, if you shop around. O2 also have some good sim only offers now that might even better than the tariff you're on.

Would my bolt on still continue as this would allow me to go for a cheaper tariff with less data.

If you change tariff you will lose your bolt ons.

Hmm, maybe a new phone bought outright is what I need to do. Any suggestions I have had a few Sony phones.
