I just got my new phone today as I upgraded early, I still have an airtime bill left on my other phone but I have transferred everything over, will I get my network when my next bill comes out or should it renew automatically?

@C_mariewarnes You should contact customer service to make sure you're not paying the airtime on two contracts.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0800 032 1402 from any phone or numbers here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also try to reach O2 via social media:

When you upgrade you bill date remains the same and your next bill will be a combination of your old contract price plus the new contract price pro rata.
Your old sim will carry your contract so that should be used in the new phone, or do a sim swap to activate the new one if you can get 5g in your area Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
