Upgrade from Carphone Warehouse what is the process?

Hi,

I have got contract that will end 23October and I am entitiled to upgrade now from Paymonthly O2 .

Phone from CPW has arrived with sim card which needs activation. Now I have been told by CPW, I have to wait to the end of contract and call O2 on 23 October to ask for transfer to new SIM card.

Is this what I should do?

Do I have to wait to the end of contract evan I can upgrade 30 days before the end date?

Hi,

If you were ending your current O2 contract then you have to give 30 days notice.

Upgrading with O2 can usually be carried out 30 days prior to the contract term ends.

Are you sure your upgrading and not taken a new contract out ?

You should be able just to put your current SIM card in the phone or do a swapmysim to move your tariff and original mobile number to your new sim, if for example the new sim is a different size from the one your using now.

Is this because your new phone has a different sized sim card to the old one?

If so their advice is good, if not you can change it whenever you like.

It was advice from CPW what to do no matter what sim card size is. I can easily take old SIM and cut it to micro size to fit into new phone. But I have got filling upgrade may not be registered if I  still will be using old sim.

I am going to ring o2 today and ask for upgrade to new SIM, this will be betetr then use old sim becuse CPW may not track this upgrade and I have £100 cash back as upgrade that I don't want to loose.

Seems daft that they would give you the phone and sim but tell you that yoi aren't allowed to use it until the 23rd.  Who is going to sit and wait!?

Never heard of anything like this before.

If it was me, I would use it, now - no waiting around.
