Upgrade early/buy out contract

My contract runs out in February, but I've bee told I can pay £120 to upgrade early to the iphone 5s on Friday.

However, my contract has always been in my mums name so whenever I phone up they have to speak to her. I want to change this to my name.

So.. Can I get my mum to phone up Thursday night and buyout the contract for £120, then phone up Friday morning and get the 5s on a new contract under my name?

And can I get a puc code on Thursday night so I can keep my number?

I just spoke to an online advisor and he told me that my mum can phone tonight and get a note out on the account for 2moro authorising me to upgrade it 2moro!?

Is this right? I've never been told this before so I have my doubts..

I suppose anything's possible, but I'd take what online chat tells you with a grain of salt. I guess it can't hurt to try, but I'd be more inclined to go with the advice Miss_Cahill gave you.

The problem with miss cahills advice is when do I cancel my contract? How long does the 5s take to come?

Will I be paying for two bulls this month?

You cancel once the new contract is running.

We have no idea how long that could be unfortunately, people have waited about 6 weeks or more in the past.

You would be paying for two until the old one is cancelled.

Okay. I think I'll just have to wait until my mum can phone and upgrade it herself.

Otherwise the phone might take 3 weeks and ill be paying for two contracts for a month! Right?

I'm currently on a queue on the phone.

I have an iphone 5s in my basket online. Should I order it and then get my old contract cancelled and number switched over?

It says delivery by the 24th..
