Upgrade early but keep my number

I know I'm allowed an early upgrade if I pay the rest of my phone off but I'm wanting to keep my same number I already have. Is this possible as don't want a new sim with the new phone.

Was just when I went through checkout there was another sim card with the phone I chose.

It's a blank sim provided in case your sim doesn't fit the new phone.
