Hello is it possible to upgrade from a sim only to a phone at all

Yes you can. Usually after 3 months you will be allowed to, provided you take a refresh contract.

Call customer service on 202 or pop into your local shop and they will check for you.

You should be ok after 3 months as long as your account is up to date and there are no late payments.
