Hi, no this was not resolved. The only way the bank can release the funds is if O2 contact my bank with some details, giving permission for the funds to be released.
O2 have outright refused and said they can't help me and will not do this for me over twitter and over the phone no matter who I speak to, so for now I am still stuck in limbo. But thanks for checking in.
