Thanks @MI5 It's good it's now in the guide. To clarify @Mikeb1's handset was still locked at O2's end so the process wouldn't have worked before this morning. They should be fine now though.

More and more people are having to turn to the community to get their phone unlocked and it's high time O2 sorted this out. I'm sure admin have much better things to do rather than continually seeking the help of a guru....
