Unlocking an old o2 phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Can I get my old iPhone 5 unlocked for free by o2 so I can pass it on to someone who's not on o2. There is no SIM card in it and it's been restored to factory settings

You need to contact customer services @Anonymous http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus
If it was PAYG you will have to pay a fee...

Yes you can but you will likely have to put your contract SIM into it first. If you're no longer an O2 customer you still might be able to get out unlocked just by calling up customer service on 202 (contract) 4445 (payg)

As @Cleoriff has just mentioned which I didn't make clear (thanks @Cleoriff I'm really not on the ball atm) is that on payg you'll have to stump up a fee I'm afraid.

Posted in the wrong section but you need a PAYG sim to unlock it

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
