Hi, I done an early Upgrade yesterday to get the Samsung S8+. Was told by O2 it can be unlocked to any network, I requested it through my O2 App...just been told today by another O2 Agent, unless I pay off the device it cant be unlocked...Im confused as to whether it can or cant be unlocked now. If not I will just take it back to the Store and put things back to the way they were before the Early Upgrade...Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

You shouldn't have been charged any more than 30 days of your airtime then?

It was a Contract that was due for upgrade in October.....There were 2 payments to the contract..1 device plan, and 1 airtime plan slight_smile I was not paying a device plan as it was settled, just the airtime plan of £29.00 per month. I had to pay £192.00 to upgrade early plus £40.00 up front for the phone 😞

That's wrong, so you definitely need to get that back.
Under the rules of refresh, once the device is settled, you can cancel the airtime by just giving 30 days notice and therefore, making one further payment only.
Not even sure where the £192 comes in unless you recontracted to a sim only deal when you paid off the device plan?

Yes they are.
Except iPhones, all CPW phones are unlocked.

Ok so......Went to the O2 Store and explained the situation. They wouldn't refund the Early Settlement Contract Fee so I had to Upgrade....Left the S8+ back and they confirmed that O2 will not unlock them. So took myself to Carphone Warehouse to upgrade with an unlocked Handset....They were too expensive for the S8+ so I ended up getting the S8....Wasnt what I wanted but must do and all that.....Came home, only to find, the next morning....O2 had sent me through the Unlatching Code for the S8+ :0 so because I had left it back, I couldnt try it.......Im now on a Contract with O2 again for £44.00 a month with an S8 instead of the S8+. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose, but if I hadn't of been told by O2 that the Unlatching Code would not be sent because they didn't unlock them, I would have kept my S8+.....Still not sure what's going on with O2 because it seems they don't really know themselves. Thank you for all your help everyone...
