Unlock old iPhone SE

Hi, hope someone can help. I’ve just purchased a new iPhone 12 mini, did a sim swap with my old SE phone, everything seems to have copied over fine. Have done a hard reset on my old SE, now I need to know if it’s unlocked, got told that I need to insert a non O2 sim to check if locked or not, I have no other sim and being in lockdown I cannot source one, is there another way of checking other than waiting on live chat again or holding on phone and finding out. Any help much appreciated. Steve

It should be unlocked but the process is here Guide: Unlocking an O2 phone to use a different SIM card 

If you get a response saying that it's not an O2 phone, it means unlocked.

Thanks MI5 much appreciated, only issue is I’ve not got access to another non o2 sim, self-isolating/lockdown in UK, so was just wondering if there was another way rather than doing the other sim method?

Yes, as I said.

Submit the request and if they reply with "it's not an O2 phone" it means it's unlocked already.

Otherwise, they will tell you that it has been done, in which case, also unlocked slight_smile
