I have just upgraded my phone and contract on o2 refresh.

i’ve still got my old G5, which I want to try and sell privately, but would like to have it unlocked.

As I’ve changed to my new phone already, can I still ask o2 to unlock it?

Also if they will, what info will they need and how do I go about it.

many thanks any any help

Thanks for the replies. Well I went online via my o2 online and quickly received an email with the relevant instructions and codes.

the instructions were easy enough, apart from they referred to selecting sim unlock . I tired this but it wouldn’t work. Said something about the phone not being personalised.

i then selected network unlock in the menu, and that took the code .

I'm hoping that this means the phone is unlocked for any network

Yes, network unlock is the correct one to choose.
