Unfortunately it isn't possible to do.
There is a warning about this when initially linking accounts.
The only way would be to start a new account with a new email and cancel the old one.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thank you, I tried the online chat but they said it couldn’t be done.  I’ll ring tomorrow.

Yes, so best done when the minimum term is complete to avoid charges.

You don't have to.
Take out a new contract.
Once it's all set up, the people named on the current (old) and new ones need to call customer services.
Ask them to tranfer the number you wish to keep from the current (old) contract to the new one.
This closes the account generating a final bill (hence the advice this is best done once the minimum term is complete).

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Link to our guide on how to contact them can be found here

You can keep your number. You just need to start a new account. An O2 store can help with setting this up, just make sure you have a new email address.

Hi @Buzz91, I hope you found all the answers so far helpful!

Just to add to the above, I've double checked on my end what the options were regarding unlinking accounts and found the following:

  • If you've added another mobile number on the billing system, these can not be separated, unless you completes a transfer of ownership. This means that the number you would like to move would have to be moved on to a brand new account that is an existing or a new connection.
  • If you linked the numbers via My O2, you should have seen a warning advising that you can't unlink the accounts through my O2 online or via the app.

Hope this helps, and thanks everyone for the info and advice as well slight_smile
