USA roaming - no 4G

I'm presently travelling in the US but not managing to get a 3G 4G connection where it has worked in the past. Previously I've roamed onto AT&T but on this trip it seems to go to T-Mobile and the data indicator is only showing G or E. Have tried to manually select AT&T but this gets rejected.

Handsets are Moto G6 and G7.

Has anything changed recently with roaming agreements?

@bluescreener Roaming signal strength in the US on an O2 sim is never very good. The network you connect to will depend on where you are and who's sending out the strongest signal. Not much you can do about it.
