Hi guys. I am an existing O2 customer. Just got a new phone and SIM. Attempted SIM swap which didn't work. Contacted call centre who told me SIM swap wouldn't work in my situation. Explained I wanted to keep original number and not change to new number. He assured me old SIM would die and new one would capture my old number within 24 hours. Precisely nothing has happened. I'm still being charged for 2 contracts and both Sims are still alive. Any ideas? Many thanks.

You should have upgraded your current contract rather than taking a new one, which would have avoided you having two contracts, however, if the old contract isn't due for an upgrade, you will have to pay off the device plan, or what you owe on a standard contract, before you can migrate your number.

Hi @Mike

If you do a sim swap you will end up with two contacts running...(which is what has happened here)

You should call customer service and ask them to migrate your current number to the new contract.
This will immediately end the old contract and generate the final bill.

Thankyou so much everyone. Very helpful. I am, as you can probably tell, not very tech savvy.
