I'm in Turkey for a holiday and have went online to check my bill and have discovered I have been charged £4 or £5 a day for receiving spam calls from the uk on my voicemail for last few days. I have now removed my sim card from phone. Will this stop these charges? Thank you.

all calls unless you turn voice mail off 1760 before you leave will be charged non eu at the cost of the call to turkey and the call back to the uk (voicemail)
The advice is always turn off voice mail befor leaving the uk.
If on contract try ringing the free international number and se if o2 can help I am notr sure that removing the sim will help in this case as the phone was last used on the turkish network so will try there first.

I think Adam is right. Now that the phone has already registered to the Turkish network voicemail will relay through there.
Try customer service although I'm not sure they can switch off voicemail for you now that you are out of the UK and not connected to the O2 network.

Generally too late if already out of the UK - as the divert codes etc are handled in the UK and you're not connected to O2 at the moment.
An expensive lesson to learn - always call for best advice BEFORE you leave the country.
