Trying to cancel contract

I upgraded my phone and contract in Nov 2014. Since then there have be multiple losses of signal due to loss of coverage in area . any advice regarding cancellation of contract as 02 say i have to pay remainder of contract even though they are not providing a service or coverage in my area on a regular basis

So not an O2 specific problem then ?

the only locks onto an o2 signal and apperently there is no 4G in my area yet my phone is finding it. There is work going on the area but o2 aren't admitting it.

If they are testing 4g in your area the signal will come and go until the full roll out.
If that's the case you'd be better off switching to 3g manually until the work is completed.
I go between 3g and 4g areas daily on my travels and have no problem switching between the networks automatically.

It does seem sound like your area is being upgraded. Hope the problem is resolved soon.

Completely correct, in fact whilst it's rolling out sometimes you'll see the 4g icon but you won't actually be using 4G (u may find there's no service at all even though the icon is showing) so manually switching through to 3g is definitely the beat advice. It saves the annoyance of the above scenario occurring.
