My husband and I (both on o2) are travelling to the USA for 3 weeks from the end of September. I am on a sim-only plan and he has a contract. I’ve found all the guides and information on the website ambiguous, can someone please clarify what we need to do and pay to ensure we can use our phones abroad?

TIA

@Rose5

It depends on which bolt ons you have relating to travel.

See guide here Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

One more question if thats ok: the page says:

Good news, our O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On is now included with selected O2 Refresh tariffs over 90GB and SIM only tariffs over 100GBYou can also select the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On as your Extra if your O2 Refresh tariff is between 30GB and 89GB.

both our contracts are less than 30gb, can we still get this bolt on? or is there something else we need to do?

thanks!!

You can check what bolt ons you have available to you in your MyO2 or if you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

@Rose5 Keep in mind that whatever travel bolt-on you have, you won't be able to do much with it. O2 throttles their data speeds to 500kps, which is exceedingly slow, and doesn't allow you to do much of anything as far as roaming is concerned. See the Terms & Conditions here:

https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/o2travel-paymonthly-terms-and-conditions

You'll need to use WiFi as much as you can, or get a local Pay & Go sim from AT&T or T-Mobile if you're going to need internet access.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
