I spend about 3 months a year in the US. I have a travel inclusive contract but when I arrived this time I got this message:

Welcome to USA. If you want to use data while you're here, you'll need to buy a Zone 1 Bolt On. Etc etc

I had no service for a couple of hours after arriving but suddenly it burst into life and allowed me to use my phone normally.
the message also appeared again at a later time after I’d been in a no-signal spot.

any ideas on this? Thanks.

If you still have the travel inclusive bolt on then free roaming is still included so don't worry about the messages.
